First ETF to Provide Benchmark for Emerging Industry Sector – The International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced that

it has entered into an agreement with First Trust Advisors L.P. to create and list an exchange traded fund (ETF) based on the ISE Global Wind Energy Index, the newest addition to ISE’s suite of innovative proprietary indexes.

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) today reported that in April 2008, its options exchange traded an average daily volume of 4.0 million contracts and was the largest U.S. options exchange as measured by total volume traded for the month. The ISE Stock Exchange traded an average daily volume of 62.3 million shares in the same period.

The Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (OSE) and International Securities Exchange Holdings, Inc. (ISE) announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), in which the two exchanges agreed to build a cooperative relationship as the first step towards the formation of a joint venture and the launch of a new, jointly owned trading platform that promises to revitalize the Japanese equity options market.

ISE Reports Record Monthly Volume for January 2008

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) reported that in January 2008, its options exchange traded a record average daily volume of 4.8 million contracts. The ISE Stock Exchange traded a record average daily volume of 90.7 million shares in the same period.
